WHY WE CREATED KEYMATE
To simplify the work of Microsoft SharePoint environments administrators. Because it may not be easy to keep track of the access rights settings to SharePoint, OneDrive or Teams, and we make sure of this ourselves within the framework of our projects. We were also often asked to create scripts that export access rights settings or copy settings between specific users. And so we decided to create software that makes this SharePoint access management experience easily available to other administrators.
HOW IT WAS AND HOW IT WILL BE
We started creating KeyMate already in 2017. A set of scripts became a complete product, the creation of which was also participated by colleagues from the Czech branch of Microsoft.
KeyMate first supported only the on-premise SharePoint environment, followed by support for OneDrive and also support for the online Microsoft 365 environment. In this context, we also added functions specific to Microsoft Teams – for example, evaluating the usage of individual teams over time.
The latest changes include support for operation directly in the Microsoft Azure environment as well as the use of reports based on PowerBI.
In the future, we plan to further expand the functionality based on client suggestions and our practical experience. Including support for other file and document repositories.
